Nefertiti

I’m about 100 pages into Michelle Moran’s Nefertiti, a book I would have never picked up if it hadn’t been recommended.  So far, so good.  It’s pure entertainment, but let me tell you I am thoroughly enjoying just sitting back and being entertained.  The writing flows, the story — told from the perspective of Nefertiti’s sister — is compelling, and I’m learning something about a time period and part of world I know little about.  For this crazy time of year, it feels just about perfect.

Oh, that’s a tempting one. I’m fascinated by Nefertiti – she seems so rebellious. The rock star (yeah, pun intended) of the ancient world.

And this is so not my normal kind of book. I’m trying to keep the mind open and branch out. I think it was Franzen’s novel that did it to me. As brilliant as it is, I was tearing my hair out reading it.

Yes, I read Nefertiti this summer and it is good entertainment. She must have researched for years because every detail seems perfect.
